A McKie Building & Engineering Services Ltd (AMBES) is a rapidly emerging supplier of quality construction solutions
to the Civil and Rail engineering sectors in Scotland.
Based in Irvine, North Ayrshire, AMBES was established in 1997 offering “labour-only” and “domestic subcontract” services to the house builders
and building trades at the time. The company has since grown and over the years we have successfully expanded and integrated into both the Civil and Rail Sectors.
We attribute this success to our dynamic management team that has over sixty years experience in the construction industry and our continued investment in our
directly employed workforce and time served tradesmen.
We now specialise in rail station platform refurbishment including extensions and have delivered platform improvements throughout Scotland.
We have added platform projects at Insch, Port Glasgow, Stirling #3, Alloa, Invergowrie and Carnoustie to our ever expanding contract portfolio.
Other works that we have successfully delivered on Network Rail Controlled Infrastructure include Viaduct Refurbishments, lineside fencing renewals, pedestrian access stairs,
walkway improvements, Scour Protection and Preventative Maintenance to Tunnels.
In support of our Client’s requirements we also provide Supervisory Staff, Track Safety Personnel and prepare our own Works Package Plans, RIMINI Plans and As-Built Handback Packages
as determined by the complexity of the works.

BS EN ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 accreditation. We are also registered with the Achilles Link Up V2 proof audit scheme and are currently awaiting
accreditation with the “Investors in People” development programme.
